Our Story
Our story begins like many other cliché beginnings - drunk in a karaoke bar. While both our friend groups were singing their hearts out, we bonded over how terrible(-y great) they were. Dani asked for Drew's number at the end of the night and thus began our adventure.
The first date was illuminating - Dani learned, much to her relief, that Drew was a grad student at UC Davis. We spent the rest of the year at Davis, both experiencing two different worlds. Drew quickly learned about basketball and went to more games than he had ever been to in his life. Dani learned that she was the much needed fifth player at trivia for all of the fashion and sports questions.
After the year at Davis, Dani left for law school at Pepperdine and Drew joined a tech startup Rhombus in Sacramento. We worked our way through the 390 mile distance, trying to visit frequently on weekends and breaks. When Covid hit, Dani spent the majority of the time up in Sacramento and we moved into a larger apartment with an office for both of us to share.
Shortly into the lockdown, we brought Juno home and both fell in love with her from the beginning. Our family became more and more established, with Juno bringing even more love into our relationship. Finally, Dani graduated, passed the California Bar, and moved up permanently to Sacramento to start at a law firm a half block from Drew's company and these remaining years have been growing into our careers together.
You'll find us frequenting the restaurants and breweries of Sacramento, constantly looking for new coffee shops and Italian restaurants. We've determined the best chocolate chip cookie in Sac after searching for a half year (it's a tie between Majka's and Scorpio's). Juno has become a dog park local and established herself as a staple at Drew's workplace. We have a favorite beach and bagel shop in Tahoe to beat the heat with Juno and still go to Davis basketball games in season.
We have had such a great 6 years together so far, filled with joy, adventure, love and we cannot wait to celebrate it with you for years to come.
